Digital Nomad Rest
Welcome to the House of Dreams, where we foster community amongst travellers and local entrepreneurs alike. We have two bedrooms available for digital nomads (our favourite type of guest – you have such wonderful adventurous and creative spirits!). Each room is a haven for rest, a quiet space with its own sitting room and sink/vanity within the bedroom. The common spaces of the house host community and growth-focused events. We are happy to welcome you into the vibe of connection, synchronicity, curiosity, and collaboration! *If you are a digital nomad, please identify yourself and I will extend you a special offer of 10% off the current listing price!*
An easy ride from the airport, 10 mins to downtown Vancouver. Great wifi, and a friendly, chilled out atmosphere. Rebecca has lived life on the road and lived abroad and knows what you need, and is happy to ensure you’re hooked up while you’re with her. Access to working space? I’ve got some in the house, with a printer, paper shredder, a landline, desks and comfy chairs, etc. I’ve also got a bajillion recommendations for peaceful coffee shops and coworking spaces around town.
This home was originally built in 1947 and little has altered since then – except for some funky new paint I’ve lavished on the walls. Everyone that comes into this home marvels at its peace, unique beauty, and warmth.
The house was chosen by Rebecca for its large meeting spaces, which she uses regularly for group meetings and events. She has named it the House of Dreams, as it is created to be a safe space for dreams to be nourished and brought closer to being made real. It is a space that is supportive to solopreneurs, artists, non-profit groups, teachers, dancers, and more!
The house cats Gandalf and Radagast will eagerly show you to your room. Two lovebirds – Mango and Kiwi – kindly let us all know when the sun has come up. Rebecca lives in the house full-time (except when she’s travelling for work) and with her two teenage sons who are lovely human beings.
If you are curious to know whether any group events will be held at the house during your stay, check in with Rebecca! Many of them might have room for you to attend, and she can provide details to you.
The kitchen is a busy place, and you’re welcome to join in and use it too. Everyone is responsible for cleaning up after themselves, and there is a dishwasher you are welcome to use. It is a homey kitchen rather than a show kitchen!
In the summer, the back patio is a lovely place to hang out. If there are no events happening in the common spaces during your stay, you are welcome to use them as well.
Interaction with guests
I am interested in you and would love to be a support for you as you explore my beautiful city. I am available for you to ask questions or ask advice. I will be present in the home as well during your stay.
The neighbourhood
I live near Kerrisdale, which has many delightful restaurants, shops, cafes, etc. It is within walking distance. If you hop on the number 10 bus heading north, you’ll end up in the posh shopping district around Granville and 4th, or continue on downtown to experience all that jazzy downtown life. I love jogging through the streets upon streets around me of old mansions, tall trees… full of history and beauty!
Getting around
I am located on major transit routes so it is incredibly easy to get downtown, to the Skytrain, to the airport, or virtually anywhere else around Vancouver you want to go. To get to my home from the airport, simply hop on the skytrain there, get off at the Cambie/49th station, hop on the number 49 bus heading west on 49th street, and get down at the bus stop on 49th and Granville. You are now a short walk to my home!
Other things to note
There are occasional events in the house, and other occupants as well, so please be aware that all spaces outside of your bedroom are shared.
Prices vary according to season. To book, you may contact Rebecca directly, or go through airbnb via the links in the pictures below.
